Hot glue guns are...hot

Happy late Thanksgiving! Our Thanksgiving was great, and to whoever actually reads this, I hope yours was great, too! We went up to my sister Margret's house in Idaho Falls. Visiting with her husband and little nieces (who are now both in love with Kevin now). My dad came up from Cedar City as well. We even got to visit with my Uncle Wayne, whom Kevin had never met. It was great! We had some complications about when we were leaving due to the BYU/U game on Saturday. We were checking all kinds of cable listings and apparently no one in Idaho had the channels, so we thought. We went to Kevin's grandparents house in Blackfoot. Right when we thought we had to leave to watch the game, we found out that his grandparents had the channel! Hallelujah!!! So, we were able to watch our Cougars win a glorious victory over our longest and biggest rival, University of Utah. Go Cougars!!! I now have bragging rights for a year at my work (all U fans) and one of my coworkers now owes me and Kev dinner. :) While we were in Blackfoot, Kevin's Aunt Diane found this great craft project. I was busy with the game, so I got a late start so Diane and her daughter Brionna helped out a lot, but we finished it and it looks great! We're so domestic! :) About the title...check out the first picture to see what happens when you touch hot glue. To sum it up, it hurts. And try typing with that big blister-not so fun. The second picture is the finished project!

Land of the Leaves Final episode (we hope)

So we finally finished raking all of the leaves (and not too soon either, because as we were taking the bags out to the street, it started snowing and we got about 2 inches of snow!). We still have two trees with some leaves, but we finally finished bagging the leaves from before, in addition to another big tree that dropped it's leaves. The grand total of leaf bags? Drumroll please....30 bags!!!!!! 20 were 30 gallon bags and 10 were 40 gallon bags. Yeah, that's a whole lot of leaves. Phew.

Bags, and bags galore...and we filled up the open trash can next to it as well.

So, now that's out of the way, we can focus on more important things...like the BYU vs. U game in a couple weeks....Go Cougars!!!!

Fall is in the Air

Fall. I love it. The leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins, Halloween candy, Thanksgiving...it's so wonderful! This year, since we're living in the bottom floor of a house, we had the fun job of raking the leaves. We have one really big tree and two just big trees. These pictures are leaves JUST from the one tree....yeah, it's a lot.



So, we had fun raking leaves, but we still have a lot of work left to do. I also dyed my hair! I cut about three inches off, and then dyed it. Here are some before/after pics:

Arches and Updates

Well, hello everyone!!! Apparently I'm still the worst blogger in the world...oops! :) Well, here's the scoop on the happenings in life of Emma and Kevin (or Kemma as we are sometimes called): life is good. We still love our new place. The second semester of PT school just started for Kev (and, he got A's and A-'s his first semester--woohoo!), and it's going well. I'm still loving my job, I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful job with such amazing people to work with. Working for the Church is great! I love being able to incorporate gospel principles into everything that I do. Love it, love it, love it!
Well, last month we took our summer vacation, and use up the only 2 vacation days I had so far. We went to Arches National Park. We had a blast, even though we had to sleep in our car the first night. It's a funny story actually. We weren't sure we were going to be able to for sure go that weekend, so we never made reservations at the campground in the park. We called the night before to see if there were any "fist-come first-serve" spots. The guy on the phone said there were like 13 spots open. We thought we were totally good to go. I left work a little early and we were on the road by 4, so we got to the park at about 8. Unfortunately, the campsite is on the totally OPPOSITE side of the park, so we didn't get to the campsite until about 8:30. There was the most amazing sunset as we were driving through the park, but we didn't dare stop to take pictures because we were in such a hurry to get a campsite. Little did we know that the first come first serve spots are given out at 7 a.m. So we were only 13.5 hours late. :) Too bad the guy on the phone couldn't tell us that. So, we decided to just go into town and get a cheap motel for the night, wake up early and get a spot for the rest of the nights we were there. It was a Wednesday night so we thought there would be no problem finding a motel room. Wrong again! There was absolutely NO vacancy anywhere in the town. So, we drove back to the visitor's center (where they hand out the camping permits in the morning) and spent the night in our car. Not so comfy b/c our back seats were full with camping gear so we couldn't even put our chairs back very far. We survived the night, got in line way early and got our campsite. We were at the park for 3 1/2 days. It was amazing. I can't believe how many foreign languages we heard. I swear, there were more people non-English speakers than English speakers there. It was pretty cool. We did every hike w/ a trail that we could, and even did the Fiery Furnace (where you go in with a ranger). So. Beautiful. Here are some pics of our trip:

Another of the two of us. This was in Fiery Furnace. Definitely haven't showered for like 4 days, so don't judge the greasiness. :) (although I did cheat and wash my hair halfway through our trip. I just got a bucket of water and went to the back of our campsite. It felt great!)
So, that's pretty much the summary of our trip. It was great! Oh, another funny story. We went to the Fiery Furnace (you have to pay a fee to go inside and get a tour). We were with about 20 other people. The tour takes about 3 hours. I peed before we went, but about a half hour into the trip, I had to go so bad it literally hurt to walk. I was in trouble. When the tour guide took the group to secluded spot to look at an arch, I snuck off from the group and totally found a little crevice to pee in. I felt really bad, because this is like the most natural part of the park and they work hard to make sure it doesn't look like people go through there all the time. Well, when nature calls, there's not much you can do, right? :) It was a great trip. I'm really glad we got to go.
And I just have to add that I love BYU. GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I'm a little twitchy...

So, Kevin and I were doing laundry today. I was bringing our fresh clean towels into our bathroom when I felt something tickle my neck. Thinking it was a hair, I just brushed my neck. A few minutes later, I felt it again. I brushed my neck, and then Kevin looked at me and says "Oh my gosh!" Then he starts swatting my hair. I start freaking out, because now I know what that tickle was. Yeah, that's right. There was a freaking spider crawling on my NECK!!! And this thing was about the size of a dime. Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew!!!!!! Not okay! *shiver* So, needless to say, I'm a little twitchy now....if you come near me and touch me, don't be surprised if I freak out....

A Year and a Half...

Well, today is me and Kevin's year and a half anniversary! It's been a great time. I am very lucky to be married to such a wonderful man! :)
I have been chastised by many people that I am a terrible blogger. Well, it's true. I am. But, I'm finally blogging to fill everyone in on our very exciting life. Oh, wait. It's really not that exciting (now I remember why I never blog...) Just kidding, life is wonderful! For those who don't know, Kevin and I moved up to Salt Lake City. We love our new place (complete with a new tv) and it's in a great location (close to both my work and school for the hubby). I'm working at Deseret Industries here in Salt Lake. It's great! We feel very blessed.
Right after graduation (we both just graduated from BYU in April-me with my masters in social work, and Kev with his bachelors in exercise science), we went to California to visit with Kevin's family and take a trip to Fort Bragg, right on the coast. It was beautiful! The beaches in northern Cali are totally different than the beaches down south. It's a very different kind of beautiful. The one deterring factor was that it rained THE WHOLE TIME, minus about 4 hours one day. Notwithstanding the rain, it was still gorgeous and we had a blast! Here's some pics from the trip.
